Meet the Veterinarians & Team of Muskego and Wind Lake Animal Hospital in Wisconsin. We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets.

Dr. James Hardekopf

Veterinarian/ Medical Director

Dr. Hardekopf received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Science degrees from Iowa State University. He joined Muskego and Wind Lake Animal Hospitals in 1981.

His interests in veterinary medicine are to provide quality medicine and surgery to his patients.

Dr. Hardekopf enjoys being a practicing veterinarian for nearly 40 years. He enjoys spending time with his family and his amazing grandchildren. He also enjoys his several Papillions. He continues to be a season ticket holder of the Milwaukee Bucks. Go Bucks!

Dr. Mark Kafura

Veterinarian/ Medical Director

Dr. Kafura graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the UW-Madison as well. He joined the team at Muskego Animal Hospital following graduation in May 2016.
Dr. Kafura has two cats (Dagny and Huckleberry) as well as a red-eared slider turtle (May). During his free time, Dr. Kafura enjoys both playing and watching sports as well as fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He is an avid fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Cubs.

Dr. Emily Lee

Veterinarian

Dr. Emily Lee graduated from the University of Wisconsin’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Following graduation, she started practicing at the Muskego Animal Hospital and soon joined the staff of the Wind Lake Animal Hospital as well.

Dr. Lee has a wide variety of interests including ultrasonography, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Lee enjoys camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time with her husband, her boxer, and her two cats.

Dr. Paul Schultz

Veterinarian

Dr. Schultz graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. He joined the staff at the Muskego Animal Hospital in June of 1997 and continues to enjoy practicing in the Muskego area. His wife, also a veterinarian, practices in the Brookfield area.

Dr. Schultz has two cats, and enjoys camping with his Labrador whenever he gets a chance.

Dr. Rhonda Waller

Veterinarian

Dr. Waller is a 1992 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced for 5 years in New England before returning to Wisconsin. She has been on staff at Muskego Animal Hospital since 1998.

Her special interests include small animal surgery and reproductive medicine. She also has personal experience with showing, breeding, and raising French Bulldogs.

Dr. Waller’s other interests include remodeling her fixer-upper home, gardening, and pursuing various art projects.

Dr. Riley Friederichs

Veterinarian

Dr. Riley Friederichs graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 and is so excited to begin working at Muskego/Wind Lake Animal Hospital! His interests include all aspects of small animal practice including preventative and internal medicine, surgery, and dentistry as well as wildlife rehabilitation and exotic species. He has a dog of his own (Daphne, a retired racing greyhound) and his fiancé has two cats (Louie and Lucy). During his free time, he spends his time outdoors with family or friends going fishing or golfing. He is also an avid Brewers and Packers fan and will go to American Family Field to catch a game any time he can.
